We always recommend owners to get their bikes registered asap, we alert residents of our local marking events by email or by advertising in the local council noticeboards and by social media platforms X and Nextdoor.
Here's how BikeRegister and the MPS work together: Registration: Cyclists can register their bikes on the BikeRegister database for free, adding their bike's details and a unique ID.
Marking: Kits are available to permanently mark bikes with a unique code, further deterring theft and aiding in identification.
Police Use: The MPS has access to the BikeRegister database, allowing officers to quickly identify and return recovered bikes to their rightful owners.
Deterrent: The presence of a BikeRegister marking and warning sticker can discourage potential thieves.
Kind Regards, Police Staff Wayne Griffith New Malden Village, Coombe Vale, Norbiton, Cluster Safer Neighbourhood Team
